Family Ministries
We believe that a cornerstone of a healthy church is healthy families. To that end, we put special emphasis on teaching and equipping parents to raise the next generation of godly adults.
While our Student Ministries program focuses on families with teens, Family Ministries at Tri-State Fellowship focuses on the younger family. We work to build on the elements that form a strong foundation and establish respect and leadership within the home — all from a Biblical perspective.
Many parents are involved with their children's Sunday morning classes, mostly as family shepherds where they assist a master teacher by working with smaller groups. In this way parents become more comfortable sharing with children about spiritual things, such as encouraging children to talk, praying with them, and sharing examples from the parents' lives.
This format is an intentional strategy to help parents grow as leaders in their own homes.
Family Worship Sundays are offered once a month during the 9:30 am worship service time. Families of children K-4th grade gather in the Café rooms for an interactive and energetic introduction to the themes the children will be learning in the following weeks. Parents are given opportunities to practice having spiritual interactions with their children — right there — and families have "take home" activities to continue learning together beyond Sunday morning.
An active Young Families group, loosely defined as families with children up to younger elementary ages, meets on a regular basis for activities to encourage friendships and connection.
Sunday morning classes also encourage growth in our families. We offer various groups to support families at whatever stage they might be.
Special family events are planned throughout the year. Check out the family events link to see what is coming up! For more information contact Paul Ostoich, Pastor of Family Ministries, at 301-790-1774 or paul@tristatefellowship.org. |
