Life’s Most Important Relationship
Did you know?We were made to have a relationship with God. That is how it was in the very beginning. God made our original parents to know Him and walk with Him in a daily and perfect relationship of love and unity.
Then came a problem
Sin entered the picture and ruined the perfection of that relationship and separated us from God. Sin and the consequence of death have been passed down through the generations to all of us. There is nothing anyone can do to fix this problem. Only God could make a remedy to restore that
lost relationship.
God provided the solution
Jesus is God's answer to the problem of sin and death. Christ paid the
penalty for sin, and proved his power over death by rising from the grave.
We must respond in faith
God offers to us the opportunity to be restored to a unity of relationship with Him. He invites us to trust His provision by placing our faith in what Jesus has done for us in taking our place and dying for our sin. We must acknowledge to God we are lost in our sins, and ask His forgiveness – not because we have done anything to earn it, but because we believe Jesus has done it for us.
What happens if I respond?
Some people say this is what it means to be "born again," while others may speak of it as being "saved" or "trusting in Christ." Whatever the phrase we use, it means that we are restored to God and have regained life's most important relationship. This new relationship with God makes a difference
in how we live, and guarantees for us an eternal life with God.
